Congratulations to

the 124th commenter!

Look for an email from us telling you how to claim your prize!

We love this new book from Thomas Knauer and his quilt work using our Essex Linen, including the cover quilt of Modern Quilt Perspectives (KP Craft, 2014).  We liked it so much we wanted give away both the book and enough linen to make the "You Are Here" quilt for one lucky fan.

With more than 200 entries, with many of you eager to give quilting with linens a first try, we were happy to let pick a winner for us:

Special thanks to Thomas Knauer for donating a copy of his book for the prize and to everyone who left a comment. It's great to see all the excitement about quilting with linens and we hope you will give it a try, too!

Modern Quilt Perspectives {new book}

Welcome to our stop on the Modern Quilt Perspectives blog tour! This month, KP Craft has released Thomas Knauer's first quilting book Modern Quilt Perspectives: 12 Patterns for Meaningful Quilts, a collection of patterns and essays with a wonderful introduction to the tools of the trade.

In case you missed it, be sure to read Thomas' post about the book, how it came to be with the help of many, especially the quilter extraordinaire Lisa Sipes. Check out her amazing quilting in her post about Modern Quilt Perspectives yesterday.

Studio Visit with Jennifer Sampou + a Giveaway!

So much of what we do these days is done over distance, with emails and attached files and online images, that an in-house visit with a designer is a rare treat. The RK team was lucky enough to play host to the legendary Jennifer Sampou this week and we had to nab the opportunity to get a picture of her with her newest line, Studio Stash.

Designed–as always–with quilters in mind, Jennifer's collection features a range of colors and textures suitable for modern and traditional designs. With four beautiful color stories that complement each other and her previous collections, the fabrics are crying out to be made into beautiful quilts.

Today we're releasing a new pattern, designed by Jennifer herself, using the new Studio Stash collection, Kona Cottons and Essex Linen and brought together in an enormous zig zag. Measuring 51" x 74," the quilt is a fabulous size for snuggling under when the weather turns cooler this fall.

Get started now and download the PDF pattern from our website. Shop owners can download kitting info, as well. Fabrics are in stores now.

Win your own Studio Stash!

Sign up for Jennifer's newsletter (scroll to the bottom of her webpage) and you'll be entered to win one of four custom fat quarter bundles of Studio Stash. Be sure to submit your name and email by August 31, 2013. A winner will be drawn on and announced on September 1, 2013.

Worth Waiting For: The Asymmetrical Diamond Quilt

You've been asking for and now we have it for you--a free, downloadable pattern for the Asymmetrical Diamond Quilt.

Inspired by Lisa Roddy's quilt on her blog, Shiner's View, we offer you a variation using our Essex Linen, Kona Cotton and Classic Plaids/Stripes.

If you are new to making half-square triangles, check out Lisa's tutorial for some tips on quick and easy HSTs.

When you finish yours (hint, hint) be sure to tag @robertkaufman on Instagram and/or Flickr. Hashtag your pics with #mydiamondquilt and we'll follow along because we'd love to see how it turns out!
