New Fabrics from Caleb Gray...And a Giveaway!

Robert Kaufman is excited to announce two new fabric lines from Caleb Gray - both due in stores this May!

The first is called Pet Park, and it features all kinds of playful critters perfect for the pet-lover in all of us. Whether you prefer cats, dogs, or even hamsters or goldfish, this collection has it all! These are just some of the fun prints included in the collection:

Now, we all know how hard it can be to find the right fabric for the boys in the family. And that's what makes Caleb's other new line, Cone Zone, so great - we think young boys will absolutely love this combination of dump trucks, bulldozers, street signs, and traffic cones!

Would you like an opportunity to play with BOTH of these collections? Great! because we're giving some away! Just leave us a friendly comment below for a chance to win a Pet Park fat quarter bundle AND 1/2 yard cuts of Cone Zone. On Friday, April 27th, we will randomly select TWO winners, who will each take home both prizes.

And don't forget to stop by the Caleb Gray Studio page on Facebook or his website, www.calebgraystudio.com, to see more of Caleb's awesome designs and to show your support for one of our favorite artists!

London-Themed Fabric for the Olympic Season

Seeing as how the London 2012 Olympics are right around the corner, we thought this would be a perfect time to give you all a sneak peek at Laurie Wisbrun's newest line, Next Stop London!

She has delivered yet another fabulous collection and really captures the essence of London with her illustrations of Big Ben, London Bridge, red old-fashioned phone booths, and big double-decker buses.

Looks like all kinds of fun, does it not?

And the timing of its release could not be better! Next Stop London will ship out to stores later this month, giving all of you quilters out there more than enough time to make some amazing projects before the Olympics kick off in July.

And we all know that the Games will be all anyone's talking about come summertime! So get into the spirit of London, and as always, don't hesitate to share with us all the fabulous ideas you come up with!

Now to the best part: We're giving away the four half-yard cuts you see in the picture above! Just leave us a nice comment for a chance to win. And on Monday, April 9th, one lucky winner will be chosen at random to receive the whole set!

Fabric8 Design Contest!

Robert Kaufman Fabrics is partnering with Spoonflower to bring you the Fabric8 Design Contest! We are searching for eight talented designers looking to make a name for themselves in the industry. And one of those chosen eight will have the opportunity to begin a rewarding career as a professional fabric designer!

What's the best part of all this? The contest is open to anyone and everyone, and there is no entry fee! Just submit a single design to Spoonflower.com by April 24th to be considered by our panel of judges.

The theme of the contest is Watercolor with Pen & Ink - think modern designs rendered in the style of pen & ink drawings colored with watercolors.

Take a look at our Pinterest board for some direction and inspiration.

Between April 24th and May 1st, representatives from Robert Kaufman and Spoonflower will thin out the playing field and select their 100 favorite designs. Audiences around the world will then have the chance to vote online for their favorites, and the results will determine the final eight competitors.

Each of those eight designers will then be asked to create a collection of eight fabrics based on their original designs by June 5th, and the fabric-loving public will once again vote for their favorite collection.

The designer who receives the most votes will be offered a contract with us, Robert Kaufman Fabrics, to produce a professional fabric collection! They will also receive a $1000 advance against royalties (minimum guarantee), a professional-quality Wacom digital drawing tablet, and $250 in custom fabric printed by Spoonflower!

For more info about submission guidelines and contest dates, please visit fabric8contest.com.

Best of luck to all contestants - Can't wait to see what you come up with!
