AMNW Design Challenge

Exciting news! Our very own Evie Ashworth served as a guest judge for the final round of the AMNW Design Challenge in Portland, Oregon! Four talented fashion designers from the Art Institute in Portland had been competing for the past few weeks in a series of challenges that showcased their fashion skills (think 'Project Runway'). Titled "Push the Boundaries," this week's final challenge required the designers to create an Avant-garde piece using fabrics exclusively from Robert Kaufman.

Evie will join a distinguished panel of judges to evaluate the designers' work, and we could think of no one more qualified for the job. Not only is Evie the Design Director for the entire Retail Division at Robert Kaufman, but she has also been an established member of the textile industry for over 40 years! In fact, she was also featured as a guest expert at the Creative Connection event in St. Paul, Minnesota just last September.

Evie and the rest of us at Robert Kaufman are thrilled that AM Northwest has chosen our fabrics to cap off the weeks-long competition. The designers will present their Avant-garde pieces this Friday, February 24th, on the AM Northwest morning show, and a winner will be crowned on Monday, February 27th. AM Northwest airs at 9:00 am on KATU Channel 2 in Portland. And don't forget to visit Fabric Depot's blog for recaps and photos of the designers' work, which you yourself can vote for at KATU.com!
