Kona Color Contest!

Guess what!?

We're looking to add more colors to the Kona® range later this year & we want your help!!

Right now we offer over 200 colors of Kona® Cotton Solids. We've had a lot of fun making Kona fabric treats over the years. Take a look at these ads from 2008.

We've got even more goodies planned for 2011 - here's a sneaky *little* peek!

And now, some eye candy to get you inspired!

How you can help/WIN!

We want to know – What color or colors do you think we are missing in our Kona range?

Tell us between now and March 17th, and we’ll randomly choose & announce 5 winners March 18th. Each winner will receive a set of all five Kona charm packs!

To enter leave a comment with your idea.  Please make sure you leave your contact info in your entry or a link to your blog.  You can also write a blog post with your idea if you want to elaborate more on the color or colors you want to see and why.

Oranges. More of a range of colors. Deep ones. Light ones. More red and yellow based, and just some great pure orange. :)

I find the teal and aqua are always just a bit off. Maybe a few more light and dark shades.
Browns. The more neutrals and less red based browns.
More shades of grey. Like, 30 more. :) Grey is so hard to find that a good neutral and not so blue based.

Schiaparelli pink. More shades around pomegranate. I love that color.

I'd love to see a wider range of grays, yellows, and oranges. I'd love to see more shades of colors, rather than the tones that are so predominant. I enjoy colors with more saturation as well, so more in the jewel tones (emerald, amethyst, sapphire) would be awesome. I'd also love more 'mud' colors - burnt sienna, burnt umber, clay.

I would love to see a fabric the color of the turquoise stone with light brown, white or light black striations in it.

More greens and blues please. And purples. :)

I would love to see more shades of gray as well as orangesfrom soft hues to the burnt orange or bronze or brick colours...like those special bricks produced in UK with natural colour to it.... :)

And also how about producing neon like colours....that would be pretty interesting for those who dare to use such colours ...

More teals, more warm yellows, gray. And there can never be too many reds! : )

I'm a bit newbie to fabrics, but from the term 'cotton solids', i get to understand that they are cotton material without any prints on them.
The thing that is eye catching in the photos you posted is that the gradient colours are so gorgeous in the pile photos. So thought definitely gradient tone of colours on a single piece of fabric would just be superb. I think the term 'cotton solids' can be extended to this as well as the fabric will not have any prints on them.

There really aren't many browns in the solids collection... need more browns.

How about aqua?
I would like to see more greys, blue/grey, lavender/grey and true light grey. Some soft oranges (not peach) and a deep periwinkle blue would also be nice.

I know it doesn't help narrow it terribly - but I always have a difficult time finding just the right yellow or orange. Also, I'm really into grays right now (as is the rest of the world), and I'd definitely like to expand beyond coal, ash, and medium gray!

I LOVE my Kona colour card! I have to admit that until now I never failed to find a matching solid for my prints. But maybe you find more greens and turquoise?
Best wishes
Susanne

I would love a broader spectrum of greys - you go from a slate right to ash with nothing inbetween.

definitely more purples! there are lots of great blues, but I also recently had trouble matching a light lime green, honeydew was the closest, but still not quite!

A gray that is slightly, sort of silvery, and a salmon, which I don't think you have.

More shades of purple and teal? Another suggestion would be to make the brights brighter - maybe add some sheen or shine to them.

You almost have them all... but I see a few spots missing, llike in the mid blue to dark blue range, and the mossy green range, and the mid to dark pink range. Thanks for this sweet giveaway!

How about some more colours in purple, gray, and green?
March 15, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterHanna
Bright yellows - I can always find dull, pastel yellow but I am looking for an intense shade of yellow.
March 15, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterI
I love the dark purples. I wish there were a few more shades along the line of eggplant :)
March 15, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMelissa Corry
Yellow in a more lemony tone please.
March 15, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMystica
More oranges and aquas, please! There's so much you can do with different shades of orange, and the same with aqua or blue-green - especially for sea-inspired quilts.

The blues are fabulous

Oh my! I'm sure with all those colors I wouldn't complain; I'd find enough colors that would work together. But since I have to come up with something...maybe a wider range of purples / yellows. I'd love to win anything you're giving away!

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet or not, but a charm pack of your reds and blues would be great. Could even be patriotic when paired with some whites...
